Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown

The Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown is conveniently located downtown as its name suggests. The hotel is located inside of an office building and occupies the 7th-13th floors.

Upon entering the building, which has a very small lobby, there is a security guard stand though it wasn’t always manned. Signage to get to the hotel is not very well displayed however.

Check-In is on the 7th floor. The check-in process went smoothly with all features and amenities explained. I was upgraded to a suite, but this was not explained during the check-in process.

Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown
Kitchen Area

Upon entering the room there is a long hallway which leads to a small kitchen-like area with a refrigerator, sink and cabinets. There is also a coffee maker and ice bucket. I suppose this area could be functional on a long term stay, but adding a microwave would sure go a long way in making long term stays more pleasant.

Past the kitchen area there is a dining table with it’s own TV. This space could also function as a work station and has plenty of room to work.

One of the main features of the hotel is the rooftop pool. It is on the smaller side, but does offer good views of the city.

One of the bad things about staying at a downtown location in any city is that parking tends to be high. The Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown is no exception. They do offer valet parking with in and out privileges at $20/day but I never saw a parking attendant so I don’t know how easy it would be to get your car.

There are a plethora of parking lots surrounding the hotel, but many of them do not allow overnight parking. There is a low cost parking lot a couple of blocks away however. When exiting the hotel, make a left and another left at the corner. Walk approximately 1 ½ blocks and you will see an area with aisle of parking spots. Parking there is $7/day, but the great feature is that you can get texts messages to add additional parking time without having to actually go back to your car.

The Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown was a great choice for a short stay, as it is conveniently located and has easy freeway access.
