The interior looks like a French country house, with simple décor. There is worn furniture adorning the exterior of the room. There is one table with stools surrounding it, to provide a more communal experience.
There are also several tables outside.
The cake is made up of several layers of chocolate deliciousness. The bottom layer is a dense, yet somehow light flourless chocolate cake.
The next layer is a rich, chocolate ganache. Together, the bottom two layers are on the sweeter side, but not unpleasantly so.
The cake is dusted in a thick coating of unsweetened, bitter cocoa powder that helps temper the overall sweetness of the cake.
This is by far one of the best chocolate cakes that I have ever had. Is it the best in the world? I don’t know, but I must start investigating further, LOL.
For under $4, this is an absolute bargain.
Landeau Chocolate is located in the Alcantara neighborhood. In the immediate surrounding area, there are lots of shops and restaurants. I would love to come back and explore this area a little more on a future trip.
