The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Santa Maria is located inland, as is the city of Santa Maria. It is located approximately halfway between Solvang and San Luis Obispo. Because of its inland location and with not much around, prices are usually significantly lower than that of San Luis Obispo.
Check-in was quick and keys were handed over quickly.

The room features a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave, dishes and fridge.

Upon entering the room, the bathroom is located to the right. There is a single sink with formica counters, but there was plenty of counter space.

There is a shower/tub combination which thankfully had a shower curtain, as opposed to the half glass doors that leave most of the shower/tub exposed.

The toilet was clean.

There is a large dresser with a flat screen TV.

There is a small desk, with a lamp that had seen better days. The light switch didn’t work, and the outlet also wasn’t working.
The room featured two queen sized beds that featured wrinkled sheets and pillow cases.
The room was fairly spacious with plenty of room to walk around.
The hotel is conveniently located right off the freeway. All employees were friendly, and the hotel is fairly well maintained.
Although Santa Maria isn’t the most exciting place in the world, it is a more cost effective alternative compared to the surrounding areas. If needing to be in the area again, I would consider staying here in the future.
